100% Chenin Blanc – Contermanskloof – Shale
This wine is made from a single vineyard that was planted in 1977 situated in the Durbanville ward of cape town district. The vineyard consists of dry land bush vines, planted in dark decomposed shale soils situated roughly 10 km from the Atlantic Ocean. Gentle whole cluster pressed. Rough Settling. No yeast, acid, enzymes added. Wine Matured for 9 month in old french barrels. Unfined and coarse filtration. Vineyard is passionately farmed by Robert HL Starke.
